What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Fowlmere Road, Heydon - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20555
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Fowlmere Road, Heydon as lies between No.61 & Chishill Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via: Heydon Ln; Mill Causeway, Chrishall; Hertford Ln; Chrishall Grange Rd; Chrishall Grange Rd, Heydon; Chrishall Grange Rd, Fowlmere; Chrishall Rd; A505; Fowlmere Rd & vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pole replacement & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 29/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 28/1/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 29/7 & 30/7/26.

Wendy Road, Shingay Cum Wendy - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20602
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Wendy Road, Shingay Cum Wendy as lies between Manor Farm & Flecks Lane.
The alternative route for vehicles is via: Flecks Ln; New Shingay; The Shingay Rd, Abington Pigotts; Fen Rd, Bassingbourn Cum Kneesworth; North End; Brook Rd; High St; The Causeway; A1198; High St, Shingay Cum Wendy; Wendy Rd & vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 6/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 7/1/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs & 18:00hrs 6/7 to 7/7/26

Shepreth Road, Fowlmere & Shepreth Road, Shepreth - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20631
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Shepreth Road, Fowlmere & Shepreth Road, Shepreth as lies between Dunsbridge Turnpike & Mill Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via: Long Ln, Fowlmere; Fowlmere Rd; B1368; Green Ln; Fowlmere Rd, Foxton; High St; Shepreth Rd; A10 & vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pole testing & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 1/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 31/12/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1/7 & 3/7/26.

Various Roads, South - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic & Temporary 30mph Speed Limit – Order 2026-20681
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends within 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic Temporary Restrictions Act 1991 the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads, as set out in Schedule 1 below. Nothing in this Order shall prevent access & egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedules 1 & 2.
The alternative routes are shown in Schedule 1.

The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate streetlight installation, resurfacing, road markings & associated works. The proposed Order will come into operation on 13/7/26 & will continue until these works have finished or on the 12/1/28 whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated that this order will apply to the locations, at various times during the dates specified in the Schedules.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The Order shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
