What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) C24 (Part), Tisbury; from its junction with C301 for a distance of approximately 150m in a south easterly direction to enable R Moore Contractors to carry out a new foul connection via excavation and associated works. Alternative route via C24 (unaffected length) – C276 – C301 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 July 2026 and the closure will be required until 18 July 2026. B) C326 (Part), Bowerchalke and Ebbesborne Wake; from its junction with C65 to its junction with C12 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via C12-C65 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 for 6 weekdays. C) Water Lane (Part), Enford; from its junction with Longstreet for a distance of approximately 225m in an easterly direction to enable Openreach Limited to carry out pole replacement. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 15 July 2026 and the closure will be required for 1 day. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

D) Church Street (Part), Tisbury; from its property known as No.54 Church Street to its property known as No.58 Church Street to enable Wessex Water Services Limited to carry out frame cover and associated works. Alternative route via Church Street (unaffected length) – The Square – High Street – Vicarage Road – Tuckingmill – Monmouth Road – Union Road – Church Street (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 June 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. E) Chalk Hill (Part), Shrewton; from its property known as Beechcroft to its junction with Chartwell Place to enable Openreach Limited to carry out telecomm pole replacement and associated works. Alternative route via Chalk Hill (unaffected length) – B3083 – A436 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 June 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 for 1 day. F) C42 (Part), Wilsford Cum Lake; from its property known as The Fawns for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach Limited to carry out frame and cover repair. Alternative route via C42 (unaffected length) – C350 – A345 – C292 – C42 (unaffected length) and vice versa. G) C277 (Part), Teffont; from its property known as Middle Magna to its property known as St Edwards Church to enable Wessex Water to carry out frame and cover and associated works. Alternative route via C277 (unaffected length) – C276 – B3089 – C277 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 June 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. H) Kingsbury Square (Part), Wilton; from its junction with A30 for a distance of approximately 25m in a northerly direction to enable Wessex Water Services Limited to carry out manhole repairs and associated works. Alternative route via Kingsbury Square (unaffected length) – Market Place – A30 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 June 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 for 1 night. I) Cherry Orchard Lane (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Hedley Davis Court to its junction with Orchard Road to enable Openreach Limited to carry out replacement of communication frames and cover and associated works. Alternative route via Cherry Orchard Lane (unaffected length) – A36 – Fisherton Street – South Western Road – Mill Road – Churchfields – Lower Road – Cherry Orchard Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 June 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 for 1 day. Orders A) to I) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 16A OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to: Temporarily introduce a One-Way traffic restriction on the following roads in the specified directions:

a) Howgare Road (Part), Broad Chalke; from the county boundary in a northerly direction to its junction with Newtown. Direction of permitted travel northbound only.

b) Newtown, Broad Chalke; from its junction with C12 High Road to its junction with Howgare Road. Direction of permitted travel south westbound only.

c) UC Road (Bury Orchard), Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with C65 The Causeway. Direction of permitted travel northbound only. And to close temporarily to all traffic (access will be maintained for residents):

d) Knighton Road, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Newtown for its entire length.

e) Bulls Lane, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with C65 South Street. And to close temporarily to all traffic, including pedestrians:

f) Bridleway 6, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with Footpath 39, Broad Chalke.

The Order is made to ensure public safety during the period of Chalke Valley History Festival. The restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 22 June 2026 and it is anticipated that the restrictions will be in operation until 28 June 2026. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, WILTON) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that on 10 June 2026 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to introduce a 20mph speed limit zone on Bailey Lane, Buckridge Road, Collins Close, Dimmer Drive, Frampton Court, Halse Close, Golding Grove, Jones Close, Loder Lane and Oakley Road, Wilton – the complete lengths.

A copy of the Order can be obtained via email request to TrafficOrders@wiltshire.gov.uk.

Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

The Order will come into operation on 22 June 2026.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, FIGHELDEAN) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026 (PREVIOUSLY ADVERTISED AS 2025)

Notice is hereby given that on 10 June 2026 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to revoke The County of Wilts (Restricted Roads) (No.4) Order 1966 and to introduce a 20mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:

  • C290 High Street – from a point 340 metres north east of its junction with UC 154707 to a point 58 metres south west of its junction with UC 154705 Avon Banks;
  • UC 154705 Avon Banks – from its junction with C290 High Street to a point 54 metres south west of its junction with C32 Church Road;
  • UC 154704 Pollens Lane – from its junction with C290 High Street to a point 35 metres north east of its junction with Hilltop Close;
  • UC 154703 Hilltop Close, UC154702 Pollen Close, UC 154701 Oak Lane and UC 154707 – the complete lengths.

A copy of the Order and plan may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Trowbridge during normal office hours.

Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

The Order will come into operation on 26 June 2026.
