30MPH Speed Limit in C42 Downside Road and D6876 Cobham Park Road Downside
On 16 June 2026 Surrey County Council made “The Surrey County Council C42 Downside Road and D6876 Cobham Park Road Downside (30mph Speed Limit and Amendment) Order 2026”, under Section 84 and Part IV to Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which will come into force on 20 June 2026, the effect of which will be to:-
1. Impose a 30mph speed limit in the lengths of road specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice;
2. Carry out legal drafting amendment to “The Borough of Elmbridge (Leigh Hill Road-Downside Road/Horsley Road-Downside Common Road Cobham and Downside) (Speed Limit) Order 2001” (“the 2001 Order”) so as to omit the length of road specified and described in Part a) to the Schedule to this Notice from The Second Schedule to that Order.
The speed limit proposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.
A copy of this Notice together with a plan showing the length of road to which this Order relates, a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order and a copy of the made Order may be viewed during normal opening hours at:- 1. Cobham Library, The Cedar Centre, Cedar Road, Cobham, Surrey KT11 2AE. 2. Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ.
Schedule
a) That length of C42 Downside Road that extends from its junction with D6873 Plough Lane to a point 10 metres south of its junction with D6876 Cobham Park Road.
b) That length of D6876 Cobham Park Road that extends from its junction with C42 Downside Road, east for 10 metres.
