What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Drury Lane, Wicken

Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20474

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Drury Lane, Wicken as lies between No. 37 & Chapel Lane. The alternative route for vehicles is via Chapel Ln; A1123; Pond Grn; Drury Ln & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 6/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 5/1/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6/7 & 10/7/26.

Sun Street, Isleham

Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20554

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Sun Street, Isleham as lies between Nos.12 & 24. The alternative route for vehicles is via East Rd; The Causeway & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecoms pole replacement works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 28/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 27/1/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 28/7 & 29/7/26.

Fen Bank & Waterside, Isleham

Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20560

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Fen Bank & Waterside, Isleham as lies between Karma Farm & No. 41. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water main renewal & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 29/6/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 28/12/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 29/6 & 23/8/26.

Engine Bank, Mepal

Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20604

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Engine Bank, Mepal as lies between Mepal Fen & Pringle Drove. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 9/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 8/1/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs & 18:00hrs 9/7 to 10/7/26.

Heath Road, Burwell

Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20640

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Heath Road, Burwell as lies between Warehouse & Sheepyard Cottages. The alternative route for vehicles is via Heath Rd; High St; Isaacson Rd; B1103; Chapel St, Exning; Laceys Ln & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecoms upgrade & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 9/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 8/1/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 9/7 & 14/7/26.

Cowbridge Hall Road, Little Downham

Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20669

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Cowbridge Hall Rd, Little Downham as lies between ALS Autos & Ely Rd. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1411; Lawn Ln; California & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate installation of sewer connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 20/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 19/1/28 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 20/7 & 31/7/26.

Church Road, Wentworth

Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20674

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Church Rd, Wentworth as lies between Access Rd To Hill Farm & Wentworth Footpath 11.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Church Rd, Wilburton; Pools Rd; Ely Way, Haddenham; A1421; A142 & vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate tree works & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 28/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 27/1/28 whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs & 15:30hrs on 28/7/26.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The Order shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
