(TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding at a speed exceeding 30 MPH on the lengths of highway in the borough of Burnley.
i. Accrington Road, Hapton from its junction with Manchester Road to its junction with Accrington Road roundabout.
ii. Burnley Road, Hapton for its entire length.
The prohibition will be operative from 0700 hours on Monday 15th June 2026 until 1800 hours on Friday 23rd August 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow the installation of HV cable.
