What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5041 AND HAGGS LANE, CARTMEL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the;

C5041, Cartmel, from its junction with the C5040, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 125 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5041, Haggs Lane, Cartmel Road, Allithwaite Road (B5277), Holme Lane, Church Road, Flookburgh Road, Swinnate Road, Market Street and the Station Road (B5278).

Duration: From 8th July 2026 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROW/18856)

Haggs Lane, Cartmel, from its junction with Town End Meadow, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 45 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Haggs Lane, Cartmel Road, Allithwaite Road (B5277), Holme Lane, Church Road, Flookburgh Road, Swinnate Road, Market Street, Station Road (B5278) and the C5041.

Duration: From 8th July 2026 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROW/18857)

The Order will come into operation on 8th July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
