M2 MOTORWAY NEAR FAVERSHAM TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M2 Motorway in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prevent incursion into works proposed to be executed on the A251 by contractors working on behalf of Kent County Council.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise the 24-hour closure of the road leading from the eastbound carriageway of the M2 at Junction 6 (A251).
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway resurfacing and all associated work.
The work is expected to commence on or after 20:00 hours Monday 27th July 2026 and last for approximately 4 weeks. Please see National Highways
or Kent CC’s websites for further details.
The Order would come into force on 25th July 2026 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closure would be diverted eastbound on the M2 to Junction 7 (A2/A299) then follow local authority signage.
The temporary closure and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
