NOTICE OF INTENT
PROPOSED SPEED CUSHIONS AND RAISED ZEBRA CROSSING – LYTHALLS LANE

Notice is hereby given that Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under Section 90 of the Highways Act 1980, intends to install physical traffic calming measures in the form of road humps, (speed cushions) a raised table and a zebra crossing under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The details of the proposed measures are as follows:-
A. Speed Cushions

Two sets of three speed cushions no more than 75mm high on Lythalls Lane at the following points:-
i) Approximately 13 metres north of the junction with Gateside Road (at the boundary of property numbers 44/46).

ii) Approximately 20 metres south of the junction with King George’s Avenue (outside number 22)

B. Raised Zebra Crossing
A new raised zebra crossing. A raised table no more than 100mm high, from a point approximately 2 metres north of its junction with King George’s Avenue, northwards for approximately 7 metres. The controlled area (zig zags) of the zebra crossing extending on the western side of Lythalls Lane from approximately 3 metres south of King George’s Avenue northwards to a point approximately 3 metres north of the junction with Gateside Road and on the eastern side from a point approximately 7 metres south of the junction with King George’s Avenue to it’s junction with Gateside Road (the boundary of property numbers 36 and 38).

The proposed traffic calming features should assist to reduce vehicle speeds and improve road safety on this road. The zebra crossing will aid road safety as it provides a controlled provides a controlled crossing point near the school.

TEMPORARY PARKING & TRAFFIC
ARRANGEMENTS
HAWKES MILL LANE, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along Hawkes Mill Lane from its junction with Washbrook Lane to its junction with Wall Hill Road.

The Order would come into effect at 09:00 hours on Wednesday, 1 July 2026 and is required to enable pole replacement and associated works on Hawkes Mill Lane to take place safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed 1 July 2026.

Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure would be sign posted on site.

Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) reasonable local vehicular access to Hawkes Mill Lane.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
