Notice of Variation: on-street parking charges
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 46A Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Regulation 25 of the Local Authorities Traffic Order (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 proposes to vary the Scale of Initial Charges detailed in Article 37 of the North Somerset Council (Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 and any subsequent variations.
The new charges that apply will change from 8am on Monday 6 July 2026:
All existing P&D parking places (Weston-super-Mare), these charges apply between 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday. 20 minutes new charge £0.50, existing charge £0.40. 1 hour new charge £1.70, existing charge £1.60. 2 hours new charge £3.70, existing charge £3.60. 3 hours new charge £4.70, existing charge £4.60.
All existing P&D parking places (Leigh Woods), these charges apply all week between 9am and 9pm. 1 hour new charge £1.30, existing charge £1.20. 2 hours new charge £2.10, existing charge £2.00. 3 hours new charge £3.70, existing charge £3.60. 4 hours new charge, £4.70, existing charge £4.60. All day new charge £6.70, existing charge £6.60.
This Notice only applies to the charges above and in all other respects the provisions of the North Somerset Council (Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 and all variations will remain in force.
Existing on-street parking places affected by changes to initial charges: all on-street parking places on the following streets within Weston-super-Mare: Waterloo Street and Wadham Street.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Winscombe Hill, Winscombe, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 2 September 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to Access telegraph poles for overhead cabling.
This order will become operative on the 2 September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am to 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 6 September 2026

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to provide safe working area to access poles to provide fibre for a customer.
This order will become operative on the 6 September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
