THE A49 TRUNK ROAD (CRAVEN ARMS TO WOOFFERTON, SHROPSHIRE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A49 Trunk Road, between Craven Arms and Woofferton, in the County of Shropshire, to allow signal and telecoms testing to take place at Onibury Level Crossing.
The effect of the Order will be to close the A49 from its junction with the B4368 Corvedale Road at Craven Arms, to its junction with the A456, at Woofferton.
The work will be carried out overnight between 23:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Sunday 12 July 2026 and continue for one night. The Order will come into force on 6 July 2026.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closure.
Diversion routes via the B4368, the A442, the A456 and vice versa will be signed. Local diversions will also be available.

THE A5 TRUNK ROAD (BETWEEN GLEDRID AND THE ENGLAND/WALES BORDER, SHROPSHIRE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A5 Trunk Road, in the County of Shropshire, to allow cyclical maintenance works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close the A5 between its roundabout junction with the B5070 and Station Road, at Gledrid and the England/Wales border, near Chirk.
The work will be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to take place on 14 July 2026 and 8 October 2026. The Order will come into force on 7 July 2026. Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance or traffic officer purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures.
A diversion route via the B5070 and the A5 and vice versa will be signed.

THE M54 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 5 AND JUNCTION 6, SHROPSHIRE) (SLIP ROADS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an Order on the M54 Motorway, in the County of Shropshire, to enable resurfacing and loop installation work to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close –
(a) the slip road leading to the westbound carriageway of the M54 at Junction 5; and
(b) the slip road leading from the westbound carriageway of the M54 at Junction 6.
The work is to be carried out in two phases, over two full weekend closures, and is expected to be carried out from 21:00 hours on Friday 26 June 2026 until 06:00 hours on Monday 29 June 2026 and from 21:00 hours on Friday 3 July 2026 until 06:00 hours on Monday 6 July 2026. The order will come into force on Friday 19 June 2026.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance or traffic officer purposes or vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closures.
Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M54 will be signed.
