What is happening?

CYNGOR BWRDEISTREF SIROL CASTELL-NEDD PORT TALBOT (ROAD FROM GOYTRE TO BRYN, GOYTRE) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.

The Order is necessary to enable OPENREACH to carry out civil engineering works in the road.

The Order will come into force on the 15th July 2026 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner, but it is anticipated the works will take 1 day to complete.

SCHEDULE

Road from Goytre to Bryn will be closed from the turn off to Glenhafod Park (Football Ground) in an easterly direction for a distance of 1.1km along its length.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via the unaffected section Road from Goytre to Bryn Varteg Row, Chapel Terrace, B4282 from Cwmavon to Bryn, A4107 Afan Valley Road, Dan Y Ffynnon, Lletti Harri, Pen y Cae Road, Tan Y Groes Place, Field Terrace, Dyffryn Road & Goytre Road.

Access for emergency services and pedestrian access will be maintained.
