What is happening?

SLOUGH BOROUGH COUNCIL
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) and regulation 3 of the Road Traffic
(Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992
Slough Borough Council (Additional Road Closures across the Borough of Slough) Order 2026 (Order 26 of 2026) (‘Order’)

1. SLOUGH BOROUGH COUNCIL (Council) gives notice that it has made an Order under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 and any other enabling 
powers over areas of the highway being:
Wellington Street (from Uxbridge Road roundabout to Langley Road)
Oatlands Drive (from Birley Road to Loddon Spur)
Lower Britwell Road (from Haymill Road to Farnham Lane)
Bower Way (from Elmshott Lane to Hinton Road)
Blackthorne Road (from Horton Road to David Road)
Stoke Poges Lane (from Northern Road to Regent Court)

2. The Order is needed:
• because works are or are proposed to be carried out on or near the road; and
• because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road (not attributable to works on or near the road).

3. The Order shall come into operation at 00:01 hours on Monday 13th July 2026 for a period of 18 months, or until the works have been complete, 
although the works are anticipated to be complete by 23:59 hours on Wednesday 31st March 2027. The duration of the Order can be extended 
with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.

4. The road closures will take place in order for the Local Authority to resurface the carriageways and these closures will not be undertaken 
simultaneously. However, some of the closures will take place overnight. Each closure will last a maximum of 10 days and access will be 
limited but maintained for all local residents and businesses.

 5. While the Order is in operation it will prohibit any traffic passing through the above listed roads.
 

6. An alternative highway will be available for use while the Order is in force and local diversions will be clearly signed at the location. Advanced 
warning notices will be at the locations advising of the dates the works will be carried out.
