What is happening?

Manchester City Council

The Council of the City of Manchester has made the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

CITY OF MANCHESTER (PLANT HILL ROAD AND BANK HOUSE ROAD) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2026.

The effect of the Order is as follows: NO WAITING AT ANY TIME: Bank House Road: both sides from its junction with Plant Hill Road in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 10 metres.

Plant Hill Road: (i) the north-west side from its junction with Bank House Road in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 10 metres, (ii) the north-west side from its junction with Bank House Road in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 13 metres, (iii) the north-west side from a point 23 metres north-east of Bank House Road in a northeasterly direction for a distance of 21 metres, (iv) the southeast side from a point 22 metres north-east of the extended eastern kerbline of Bank House Road in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 19 metres.

NO LOADING/UNLOADING AT ANY TIME:

Bank House Road: both sides from its junction with Plant Hill Road in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 10 metres.

Plant Hill Road: (i) the north-west side from its junction with Bank House Road in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 10 metres, (ii) the north-west side from its junction with Bank House Road in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 13 metres, (iii) the north-west side from a point 23 metres north-east of Bank House Road in a northeasterly direction for a distance of 21 metres.

The Order was made on 9th June 2026 and will come into effect on 22nd June 2026. A copy of the Order and plans may be inspected by appointment at Customer Service Centre Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) between hours of 9am and 4.30pm on Monday to Friday. Please email or write into address below for a copy of documents.

Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks from 9th June 2026 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
