What is happening?

BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE

(BOARDMAN LANE, MIDDLETON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council made an Order, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Boardman Lane from its junction with Rhodes Green for a distance of 55 metres in a south easterly direction.

The Order is required to facilitate the safe repair of a Telecom pole.
The Order will be operative from 08.00 hours until 17.00 hours each day from the 23rd June 2026 until 24th June 2026.

The alternative route for vehicles will be via Ellis Lane, Heywood Old Road (A6045), Manchester Old Road (A576), Boardman Lane and vice versa.

(MIDDLETON GARDENS, MIDDLETON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from waiting at any time on Middleton Gardens, from the extended easterly kerbline of Burton Street at its junction with Middleton Gardens, for a distance of 10.5 metres in a south easterly direction.

The Order is required to prevent obstructive parking next to erected hoarding, in place to facilitate renovation works.

The Order will be operative from 08:00 hours on 15th June 2026 until 18:00 hours on 14th July 2026.

(HEYWOOD 1940’S DAY EVENT AND PARADE – VARIOUS STREETS, HEYWOOD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES & TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING AT ANY TIME ORDER) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council made
an Order, the effect of which is to;

(i) Temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along;
• Tower Street – From its junction with School Street to its junction with St James Street

• St James Street - For its entire length

• Bridge Street – From its junction with St James Street to its junction with Dawson Street/Market Street

• Dawson Street – For its entire length

• Bamford Road – From its junction with Dawson Street to its junction with Market Place

• Market Place – For its entire length

• L Cpl Stephen Shaw MC Way - For its entire length

• Hartley Street – For its entire length

• York Street – From its junction with Hartley Street to its junction with Market Place

• Market Street – From its junction with Market Place to its junction with Bridge Street

• Taylor Street – From its junction with Market Place to its junction with Earl Street

• Hill Street – From its junction with Fox Street to its junction with Market Street

(ii) Temporary prohibit vehicles from waiting at anytime along;
Hill Street – From its junction with Fox Street to its junction with Market Street.

The Order is required to facilitate the safe holding of the Heywood 1940’s Day event, including a parade.

The Prohibition of proceeding order affecting Hill Street will be operative from 07:00 hours until 18:00 hours on 21st June 2026.

The Prohibition of proceeding order affecting all other streets for the parade will be operative from 12:30 hours to 15:00 hours on 20th June 2026.

The Prohibition of waiting at any time order will be operative 06:00 hours until 18:00 hours on 2oth June 2026.

The alternative routes for vehicles for the Hill Street closure are:
Anti-clockwise – Fox Street, Hind Hill Street, Market Place, Market Street, Clockwise – Fox Street, Brunswick Street, Tower Street, St James Street, Bridge Street, Dawson Street, Bamford Road, Market Street.

Due to the nature and duration of the parade it is not necessary for an alternative route to be in place.
