(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close New Street between Oxford Road and Brighton Road. The Order will also introduce a prohibition of waiting at any time on the closed sections of New Street suspending the residents parking bays.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst gas mains replacement works are undertaken.

The Order came into effect on 22 June 2026 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated the works will commence on or after 22 June 2026 and will take until 31 July 2026 to complete. Works will be undertaken and sections of New Street will be closed in Phases. The proposed phases are: Phase 1 Oxford Road to Devonshire Road, Phase 2 Devonshire Road to Cambridge Road, Phase 3 Cambridge Road to Bedford Road, Phase 4 Bedford Road to Livingstone Road, Phase 5 Livingstone Road to Brighton Road.

(Horsham & Thakeham: Merryfield Drive & Linfield Copse)

(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close, introduce a temporary prohibition of waiting at anytime and introduce a temporary 20mph speed limit on Merryfield Drive, Horsham and Linfield Copse, Thakeham outside Nos. 69 and 70.

These road closures are needed to protect public safety whilst the 2026 highway retexturing programme is carried out. It is expected that the affected roads will be closed for upto 3 days. Temporary speed limits may be required may be required in preparation for the works, during the works and inbetween phases of the works. The exact dates and duration of the works and the traffic management in each location will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time.

The Order will come into effect on 18 June 2026 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works programme is completed, whichever is earlier.

During the works alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

((Horsham District) (Parking Places And Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation No. 2) Order 2006)

(Caterways Amendment) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:

(i)   alter the waiting restriction in the limited waiting bays on the southern end of Caterways to a mix of 1 hour and 4 hours with no return 1 hour. The restriction will apply 9.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Saturday; and

(ii)  relocate the disabled parking bay on the southern end of Caterways; and

(iii) include a 2m extension to the prohibition of waiting (double yellow lines) on the east side of Merryfield Drive adjacent to No. 2.

The Order will come into operation on 22 June 2026.

Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to have a copy of the Order should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive a copy by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirements of the act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 18 June 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
