What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL

(STATION ROAD, THE HALL SPINNEY, BRIDGEGATE, FLATGATE, HOPYARD COURT, HULL ROAD AVENUE AND HULL ROAD, HOWDEN) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026

  1. On 18 June 2026 East Riding of Yorkshire Council made this Order which will be operative from 18 June 2026 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding at a speed exceeding 20 mph on the following lengths of road:

     Extent

    Flatgate, Howden 

    For its entirety.

    Hull Road, Howden 

    From where it meets Flatgate, in a northerly direction, for a distance of 304 metres

    Hopyard Court, Howden 

    For its entirety.

    The Hall Spinney, Howden

    For its entirety.

    Station Road, Howden 

    From where it meets Flatgate, in a northerly direction for 133 metres.

    Bridgegate, Howden 

    From where it meets Flatgate, in south westerly direction, for 35 metres. 

    Hull Road Avenue, Howden

    For its entirety

 2. A copy of the Order and relevant plan may be examined during normal office hours at Howden Centre, 69 Hailgate, Howden, DN14 7SX.

3. If you wish to question the validity of this Order or of any provision contained within it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from 18 June 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
