(Arundel: Public Footpath 342)
(Temporary Restriction of Use) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit equestrians and cyclists from using Public Footpath 342 in Arundel, from its junction with Tortington Lane, westwards to its junction with public footpath 3402.
The road closure is needed because the status of the route has been upgraded to a bridleway, but a footbridge on the route needs to be upgraded before the route is safe for use by equestrians and cyclists.
The Order continues the effect of a previously issued closure notice and will come into effect on 22 June 2026. It is expected to remain in force for 6 months, after which time an extension may be necessary.
Unfortunately, during the operative periods of this Order no direct alternative route is available using the public rights of way network.
Any queries about the effect of the Order should be directed to the WSCC Public Rights of Way Team, telephone number 01243 777620. Ref: TTRO-2830- MM
(Adur District and Worthing Borough: Various Roads)
(Roads Maintenance Programme) (Temporary Traffic Regulation No.2) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close, temporarily prohibit waiting at any time and temporarily introduce a 20 mph speed limit throughout the whole length (unless otherwise stated) of the flowing roads in Adur District and Worthing Borough:
LANCING: Saltings Roundabout.
SHOREHAM-BY-SEA: Harbour Way from The Burrells to Old Fort Road, Old Fort Road from Harbour Way to Falcon Close, Kings Walk from Mardyke eastwards to Beach Green.
WORTHING: Barn Close, Cissbury Gardens from Cissbury Avenue to Central Avenue, Goring Crossways Roundabout, Goring Way from Mulberry Lane to Aldsworth Avenue, Parham Road, Trent Road.
These restrictions are needed to allow road maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take up to three days and dates for works will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time they are carried out.
The Order will come into effect on 18 June 2026 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed programme of works is completed, whichever is earlier.
During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
Any queries about the effect of the Order on traffic using the highway should be directed to the WSCC Contact Centre, telephone number 01243 642105. Ref: TTRO-2814- MM
