Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, have made an order the effect of which will be to restrict, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, oversized vehicles, works access, and works vehicles as described in the Schedule.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to create a safe working zone for access to the site compound and construction works associated with the Metro West project. This order will become operative on the 22 June 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 72 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
Schedule- Harbour Road Trading Estate (Harbour Road) traffic will be restricted from proceeding westbound from the roundaboutwith Quays Avenue/Phoenix Way to the junction with Newfoundland Way. Harbour Road Trading Estate traffic will be restricted from turning right from Harbour Road Trading Estate onto Harbour Road Trading Estate (Harbour Road). Haven View traffic will be restricted from turning right from Haven View onto Harbour Road Trading Estate (Harbour Road). Access for emergency services, oversized vehicles, works access, and works vehicles will be managed by temporary traffic lights. Alternative routes - see Causeway one.
