NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle proceeding along the length of Silver Street, Stevington.
This temporary road closure is required to assist traffic management in order for repairs to be carried out following serious damage at the base of the ancient historic monument The Cross. There will be no access to and from Silver Street from Park Road Stevington. Access and egress will be from Northampton Road onto Silver Street Only, during these times of working and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSE TO INTRODUCE NEW PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN OLD FORD END ROAD
Reason for Proposal:
Bedford Borough Council proposes to introduce “No Waiting at Any Time” restrictions and bus stop clearway cages as part of a wider scheme to implement traffic calming measures to improve road safety, maintain clear sightlines at junctions and ensure reliable operation of bus services.
Effect of the Proposal:
1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions on the following length of road:-
A Old Ford End Road
(i) On its northern kerb starting from the boundary of Nos 108 and 110 and extending in a westerly direction for 38.2 metres and in an easterly direction for 14.2 metres (Total length 52.4 metres)
(ii) On its northern kerb starting from the projected centre of the Allen Park Car Park and extending in a south westerly direction for 43.6 metres
(iii) On its southern kerb starting 4.3 metres east of the boundary of Nos 93 and 95 and extending in a North easterly direction for 11.3 metres
(iv) On its northern kerb starting 2.8 metres west of the boundary of Nos 70 and
72 and extending in a south easterly direction for 49.3 metres
(v) On its northern kerb starting from the boundary of Nos 42 and 44 and extending in a westerly direction for 13 metres
(vi) On its southern kerb starting 3.3 metres east of the boundary of Nos 57 and 59 and extending in an easterly direction for 37.7 metres.
B Ranworth Walk
(i) On its western kerb starting from the projected centre of the junction with Old Ford End Road and extending in a westerly direction for 37.6 metres and in a southerly direction for 4.5 metres
(ii) On its eastern kerb starting from the projected centre of the junction with Old Ford End Road and extending in an easterly direction for 11.9 metres and a southerly direction for 4.4 metre
C Ormesby Way ( East )
(i) On its western kerb starting from the projected centre of the junction with Old Ford End Road and extending in a westerly direction for 12.2 metres and in a southerly direction for 3.9 metres
(ii) On its eastern kerb starting from the projected centre of the junction with Old Ford End Road and extending in an easterly direction for 32.3 metres and a southerly direction for 4.2 metres
D Trinity Road
(i) On its western kerb starting from the projected centre of the junction with Old Ford End Road and extending in a westerly direction for 15 metres and in a southerly direction for 4 metres.
(ii) On its eastern kerb starting from the projected centre of the junction with Old Ford End Road and extending in an easterly direction for 10 metres and a southerly direction for 4 metres.
E Short Street
(i) On its western kerb starting from the projected centre of the junction with Old Ford End Road and extending in a westerly direction for 9.2 metres and in a southerly direction for 3.9 metres
(ii) On its eastern kerb starting from the projected centre of the junction with Old Ford End Road and extending in an easterly direction for 14 metres and a southerly direction for 3.9 metres.
F Chestnut Avenue
(i) On its western kerb starting from the projected centre of the junction with Old Ford End Road and extending in a westerly direction for 44 metres and
a northerly direction for 7.9 metres
(ii) On its eastern kerb starting from the projected centre of the junction with Old Ford End Road and extending in an easterly direction for 14.2 metres and a northerly direction for 7.9 metres
2. To reduce the extent of the “No Waiting at Any Time” restriction on the following length of road:
A Old Ford End Road
(i) On its southern kerb starting 9.3 metres east of the projected centre of Ouseland Road for 7.3 metres in an easterly direction.
3. To introduce “ No Stopping Except Local Buses” on the following length of road:
A Old Ford End Road
(i) On its northern kerb starting from the boundary of Nos 42 and 44 for a length of 18.8 metres in a westerly direction
(ii) On its southern kerb starting 9.3 metres east of the projected centre of Ouseland Road for a length of 18 metres in an easterly direction.
(iii) On its southern kerb starting 10 metres east of the projected centre of Trinity Road for a length of 18 metres in an easterly direction
(iv) On its northern kerb starting from a point 44 metres west of the projected centre of Chestnut Avenue for a length of 18 metres in a westerly direction.

PROPOSED ROAD TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES OLD FORD END ROAD, QUEENS PARK
Under Sections 90A TO 90I of the Highways Act 1980 Bedford Borough Council proposes to introduce traffic calming measures in Old Ford End Road and its connecting side roads, comprising a combination of road humps, speed cushions and raised junction tables.
Road Affected
Old Ford End Road
Throughout its length between Martham Close and Chestnut Avenue at various points and at or near its junctions with adjoining roads.
The speed cushions will be approximately 75 mm high and 3.0 metres long by 1.6 metres wide. Flat-top road humps will include sections with plateaux of approximately 6 metres in length and will be constructed across the full width of the carriageway or in the form of paired speed cushions. Raised tables will be constructed at junctions to a similar height.
