What is happening?
HALTON BOROUGH COUNCIL give notice that it has made the following Order under sections 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, as follows:
THE HALTON BOROUGH COUNCIL (VARIOUS SPEED LIMITS) (AMALGAMATION) (AMENDMENT NO.6) ORDER 2026
The Order will come into effect on 18 June 2026, and the effect of the Order is to:
1. Revoke the existing 40mph and replace with an extension of the existing 30mph for the section of road on B5419 Moor Lane, Widnes from a point 14metres west of the junction with Victoria Road roundabout for a distance of 400.56 metres, in a westerly direction.
A copy of the sealed Order to which it relates, together with a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected free of charge during normal office hours at Halton Direct Link Offices in Runcorn Shopping City and Brook Street, Widnes; and at the Reception of the Municipal Building, Kingsway, Widnes.
Alternatively, it can be viewed at the following website link: www.halton.gov.uk/tro until end of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act of 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks apply to the High Court for this purpose.
