What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Hall Road, Smethwick)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Hall Road, Smethwick, which will be closed from the junction of Manor Road to the gable end of property number 34 (access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits). A traffic diversion route will be signed via Manor Road, Greenfield Road and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 01/07/2026 (15:00) effective from 01/07/2026 (09:00). Purpose – To facilitate access to install a new telecommunications pole by MJ Quinn on behalf of Openreach.

(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the footpath, which will be closed from the dividing line of property numbers 120/122, Yardley Close, Oldbury to outside property number 130 (access to any affected frontages will maintained and marshalled by operatives from MJ Quinn, but only when safety permits).The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 03/07/2026 (18:00) effective from 01/07/2026 (08:00). Purpose – To facilitate access to lay a new telecommunication duct by MJ Quinn on behalf of Openreach.

(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Marion Road, Smethwick which will be closed from its junction with Hugh Road to the eastern boundary of property number 29 (29/06/2026-03/07/2026) (access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits).A traffic diversion route will be signed via Hugh Road, Holly Lane and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 03/07/2026 effective from 29/06/2026 (24hrs). Purpose – To facilitate access for repair works by Severn Trent Water.
