What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

THE COUNTY OF DEVON (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION) (VENN OTTERY ROAD, NEWTON POPPLEFORD) ORDER 2026 TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC

NOTICE is hereby given that Devon County Council intends to make the above titled order. From 8/7/26 for a maximum of 18 months. Anticipated Finish 19/7/26. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed on the sections of Affected Roads. Roads affected: VENN OTTERY ROAD, NEWTON POPPLEFORD.

The alternative, signed, route for vehicles will be via - ROAD PAST HOMEFIELD FARM – ROAD FROM PINE LODGE TO VENN OTTERY BARTON – ROAD THROUGH VENN OTTERY – ROAD PAST BOWHAYES FARM – ROAD FROM PRIMARY SCHOOL TO ST GEORGES – ROAD FROM TIPTON ST JOHN PRIMARY SCHOOL TO THE ORCHARD – ROAD FROM BURCOMBES GRANGE TO WOODS COOMBE – ROAD FROM WOODS COOMBE TO THE BOWD INN – ROAD PAST WEST BARN – FOUR ELMS HILL – STATION ROAD – HIGH STREET & VICE VERSA.

This temporary restriction is considered necessary to enable: WORKS IN C/W & VERGE BESIDE THE BROOK TO ALLOW FOR OPEN CUT TO REPLACE 40M SECTION OF ASBESTOS.
