DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE COUNTY OF DERBYSHIRE
THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (UPGRADING OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH
NO. 8 TO BRIDLEWAY AND
DOWNGRADING OF PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY
NO. 7 TO FOOTPATH – PARISH OF
NORTHWOOD AND TINKERSLEY)
MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
The above Order made on 07 May 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by varying the particulars of:
Public Footpath No. 8 in the Parish of Northwood and Tinkersley from Point A (Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (“GR” SK 2680 6581) proceeding in a generally South South Westerly direction, turning to a generally Southerly direction to Point B (GR SK 2674 6552), then turning in a generally West South Westerly direction, turning in a generally South Westerly direction, then in a generally South South Westerly direction to Point C (GR SK 2657 6535) at junction with Public Bridleway No 12, continuing in a generally South Westerly direction, then in a generally South South Westerly direction, turning to a generally southerly direction, to a generally South South Easterly direction, and finally in a generally South South Westerly direction to join Bridleway No. 4 at Point D (GR SK 2654 6516), with a width varying between 2.2 and 7 metres as shaded on the Order plan, and a total distance of 766 metres or thereabouts.
Public Bridleway No. 7 in the Parish of Northwood and Tinkersley from Point E (GR SK 2681 6581) proceeding in a generally South South Westerly direction, turning in a generally Southerly direction to Point F (GR SK 2678 6514), continuing in a generally South Easterly direction to Point G (GR SK 2679 6513), finally turning to a generally South Westerly direction to Point H (GR SK 2673 6509) at Public Bridleway No 12, with a width of 2 metres and a total distance of 772 metres or thereabouts.

Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to the Director of Legal Services at the address below or by email to

not later than Thursday, 30 July 2026, and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Derbyshire County Council, instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the order. If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
