THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(LADYMOOR ROAD/BROAD LANES ISLAND/
HIGHFIELDS ROAD) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City
Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by
the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991,
prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following
stretches of road:
l Island at Ladymoor Road/Broad Lanes/Highfield Road
closed in all directions. Vehicular Diversion Route:
Broad Lanes, Coseley Road, Black Country Route,
Birmingham New Road, Shaw Road, Biddings Lane,
Anchor Road and vice versa.
l Highfields Road and Highfields Road Island closed from the
junction of Broad Lanes to the junction of Ambergate Road.
Vehicular Diversion Route: Ladymoor Road, Anchor Road,
Biddings Lane, Shaw Road, Birmingham New Road,
Mason Street, Green Street, Tunnel Street, Fullwoods End,
Gough Road, Yew Tree Lane, Harding Street, Daisy Street,
Ash Street or Salop Street, Loxdale Street, Oxford Street,
Black County Route, Coseley Road and vice versa.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
undertaken from 29 June 2026 until 3 July 2026, between
the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
The Order is required to facilitate carriageway resurfacing
and repair works by CWC Highway Maintenance.
