COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2026

COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF LAND AND RIGHTS

Notice is hereby given that the Lancashire County Council has made the order under sections 239, 240, 246, 250 and 260 of the Highways Act 1980 and is about to submit this order to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, and if confirmed, the order will authorise Lancashire County Council to purchase compulsorily the land and the new rights described below for the purpose of
1.1
the improvement to highways which are highways maintainable at the public expense and which will provide widened highway with carriageway lengths footway lengths and shared use cycletrack lengths and associated drainage on the A582 at the junction being at the confluence of six roads; Croston Road (north), Croston Road (south), A582 Flensburg Way, A582 Farington Road, Fidler Lane and Centurion Way;

the stopping up and improvement of existing highways in the vicinity of the routes of the above mentioned highways in pursuance of The Lancashire County Council (A582 Croston Road Junction Improvements) (Side Roads)
Order 2026;
1.3
the provision of new means of access to premises and agricultural land in pursuance of the Lancashire County Council (A582 Croston Road Junction Improvements) (Side Roads) Order 2026;
1.4
the carrying out of drainage works in connection with the improvement of highway;
1.5
the improvement or development of frontages to a highway or of the land adjoining or adjacent to highways;
1.6
use by the Acquiring Authority in connection with the improvement and maintenance of highways and the provision of new means of access as aforesaid;
1.7
in connection with the carrying out of works related to a classified road authorised by a Side Roads Order made under sections 14 and 125 of the 1980 Act;
1.8
the mitigation of any adverse effects which the existence or use of any highway proposed to be constructed by the Acquiring Authority;

A copy of the order and of the accompanying map may be seen at all reasonable hours at either Lancashire Record Office, Bow Lane, Preston PR1 2RE or at the offices of South Ribble Borough Council at Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland

Any objection to the order must be made in writing to National Transport Casework Team, PO Box 1393, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ email

before 24th July 2026 and should state the title of the order, the grounds of objection and the objector's address and interests in the land.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND AND THE NEW RIGHTS

The land plots are situate next to the existing highway junctions of A582 Farington Road, Croston Road, A582 Flensburg Way, Enterprise Drive and Fidler Lane at grid ref 353601,424569 and the rights plot is at the River Lostock
