THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (TEMPORARY ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any person to cause or permit any motor vehicle from the following.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to exceed the speed limits as laid out in the schedule of this order.
2. To temporarily restrict waiting, loading and unloading on the following lengths of highway laid out in the no waiting, loading and unloading schedules to this order.
3. To temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle from Turning Right from Chapel Lane onto A59 Longsight Road.
4. To temporarily allow motor vehicles to proceed on the following lengths of highway in the direction stated as laid out in the temporary one-way schedule to this order.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to enable the Royal Lancashire Show 2026 event to take place.
No speed limit imposed by this (order) (notice) applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
