The Council of the City of Manchester has made the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
CITY OF MANCHESTER (CROSS ROAD AND HIGH LANE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING, NO LOADING AND UNLOADING, RESTRICTION OF LOADING AND UNLOADING, AND AMENDMENT) ORDER 2026
The effect of the Order is as follows:
NO WAITING AT ANY TIME:
Cross Road: (i) both sides from its junction with Beech Road in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 10 metres, (ii) both sides from its junction with High Lane in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 15 metres, (iii) the north-west side from a point 32 metres southwest of its junction with High Lane in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 25 metres, (iv) the north-west side from a point 67 metres southwest of its junction with High Lane in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 26 metres. High Lane: the south-west side from its junction with Barlow Moor Road in a north-westerly direction to a point 10 metres northwest of its junction with Cross Road.
NO LOADING/UNLOADING AT ANY TIME:
Cross Road: (i) both sides from its junction with Beech Road in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 10 metres, (ii) both sides from its junction with High Lane in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 15 metres, (iii) the north-west side from a point 67 metres southwest of its junction with High Lane in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 26 metres, (iv) the north-west side from a point 32 metres southwest of its junction with High Lane in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 25 metres. High Lane: the south-west side from a point 10 metres northwest of its junction with Cross Road in a southeasterly direction to a point 10 metres southeast of its junction with Cross Road.
NO LOADING MONDAY - FRIDAY 7AM-10AM
AND 4PM-7PM
High Lane: The south-west side from a point 10 metres northwest of its junction with Barlow Moor Road in a northwesterly direction to a point 10 metres southeast of its junction with Cross Road.
The Order was made on 9th June 2026 and will come into effect on 22nd June 2026.
Existing Orders have been amended to be consistent with the above. A copy of the Order the plan and copies of the Orders that have been amended may be inspected by appointment at Customer Service Centre Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) between hours of 9am and 4.30pm on Monday to Friday.
Please email or write into address below for a copy of documents. Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks from 9th June 2026 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
