HIGH STREET, E15 – JUNCTION IMPROVEMENT WORKS

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) VARIATION ORDER, 2024

Coming into force: Thursday 3rd October 2024

Variation Made: Tuesday 24th March 2026

WHEREAS the Council of the London Borough of Newham ("the Council") being the traffic authority, in the said London Borough in consultation with Transport for London, and with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport is satisfied to extend the duration of said Order to continue with vehicular and pedestrian traffic along roads, listed in schedule 1 below, or parts thereof, should be restricted, to prevent danger to the public, whilst TKJV, LB Newham and its contractors carry out works on or near the public highway.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (a) ("The Act") as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 (b), and of all other enabling powers, hereby made the following Order:-

1. The Order may be cited as the London Borough of Newham, High Street, E15 – Junction Improvement Works (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic), Order 2024.

2. No person shall enter or cause to enter the various roads as per schedule 1, at such times as appropriate traffic signs are displayed in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016(c).

3. Without prejudice to the validity of anything done or to any liability incurred in respect of any act or omission before the coming into force of this Notice, the Newham (Waiting and Loading Restriction)(Special Parking Area) Order 2011 (d) shall apply to the roads or parts of roads mentioned in paragraph 2 above as if, for the purposes of the application of Article 5(1) of that Order to the said lengths of street, the prescribed hours were "at any time" or as displayed.

4. Where required Pedestrian and vehicular access will be diverted via local adjacent footways and roads, one way streets where necessary, may be reversed or reverted to two-way working, road closures, restrictions, and parking prohibitions will/will not apply when appropriate signs are Covered/displayed.

5. Nothing in this Order shall apply to vehicles being used for Fire, Ambulance or Police purposes, or with the permission or at the direction of a Police Constable in uniform, or a Traffic Warden. Nothing in paragraph 2 of the Order shall apply to vehicles necessarily used in connection with the works.

6. This Order shall now expire at 2359hrs on Friday 02nd October 2026 or on completion of the works, whichever is the sooner.
