What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(PENTLAND HILLS REGIONAL PARK) 

(TEMPORARY ROAD REATRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026 - TEMP/26/101

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate emergency service vehicle access to Pentland Hills Regional Park Harlaw car park & Threipmuir car park, no person shall except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on any part of: (i) Harlaw Rd, both sides, from 243.5m southwest of the extended south-west edge of the carriageway of Kirkgate (Currie), south-westwards, westwards, southwards, south-westwards and then north-westwards to 411m southwest & then north-west of the south-west edge of the carriageway of Harlaw Rd (access road to Pentland Hills Regional Park, Harlaw Car Park), with the following exceptions: (1) layby 1, north-west side, from 401m north-east of the extended north-east edge of the carriageway of Harlaw Rd (access road to Pentland Hills Regional Park, Harlaw Car Park), north-eastwards for 11m; (2) layby 2, north-west side, from 542m north-east of the extended north-east edge of the carriageway of Harlaw Rd (access road to Pentland Hills Regional Park, Harlaw Car Park), north-eastwards for 32m; & (3) layby 3, south-east side, from 587m north-east of the extended north-east edge of the carriageway of Harlaw Rd (access road to Pentland Hills Regional Park, Harlaw Car Park), north-eastwards for 23m; (ii) Harlaw Rd (access road to Pentland Hills Regional Park, Harlaw Car Park), both sides, in its entirety; & (iii) mansfield Rd, both sides, from 50m north-east of the extended north-west edge of the carriageway of East Farm Rigg, south-westwards, southwards, southwestwards and then southwards to the north edge of Redford Bridge. The Order shall have effect from 22/06/26 to 20/12/26.
