What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Topsham Road, Smethwick) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Topsham Road from its junction with Devonshire Road to its junction with the extended boundary between No’s 87 & 89 Topsham Road. Traffic will be diverted via St Paul’s Road, Holly Lane, Devonshire Road & vice-versa. The one-way operation of Topsham Road will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the work with access being permitted off St Paul’s Road. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 29/06/2026. Purpose – to facilitate the replacement/installation of a new telecoms pole by MJ Quinn (working on behalf of BT Openreach). No’s 81/82 Auckland Road. Traffic will be diverted via Craddock Road,

Brisbane Road, Stony Lane & vice-versa. The maximum duration is
