What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(PARTS OF WOODMANSEY BRIDLEWAY NO 15 AND WOODMANSEY FOOTPATH NO 41) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback over the railway crossing sections on Woodmansey Bridleway No 15 and Woodmansey Footpath No 41. The reason for the closure is to ensure the safety of the public following a Network Rail safety assessment. There is no alternative route available for persons affected by the Order. It was anticipated that works would be completed with six months of the closure. However the works have not yet been completed and approval has been received from the Secretary of State for Transport for an extension of the order until 21 December 2026. The Order will commence 22 June 2026 and continue in force for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
