What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 GIBSON LANE SOUTH, MELTON (LEVEL CROSSING)
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Gibson Lane South, Melton (Level Crossing) 20 metres either side of the crossing. The reason for the closure is to enable full road marking overlay and site clean up works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed within the given time. There is no alternative route for traffic affected by this closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure and for emergency services only. The Order will commence Sunday 28 June 2026 (between 00.25 hours and 07.55 hours) and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
