MAE Gweinidogion Cymru yn bwriadu gwneud Gorchymyn drwy arfer eu pwerau o dan adrannau 14(1), (4) a (7), 84(1)(a) a (2) a 124(3)(b) o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984.

Effaith y Gorchymyn arfaethedig fydd cyflwyno terfyn cyflymder 50 mya parhaol ar y darnau o gefnffordd yr A4042 Casnewydd i Amwythig ("y gefnffordd") a bennir yn yr Atodlen i’r Hysbysiad hwn. Mae Gorchymyn terfyn cyflymder 50 mya dros dro (O.S. 2025/935 (Cy. 160)) ar waith ar hyn o bryd yn y lleoliad hwn a bydd yn cael ei ddirymu gan y Gorchymyn hwn.

Yn ystod cyfnod o 21 o ddiwrnodau o 16 Mehefin 2026 ymlaen, gellir edrych ar gopi o’r Gorchymyn arfaethedig, y Datganiad o’r Rhesymau dros wneud y Gorchymyn a’r plan, yn rhad ac am ddim, yn Llyfrgell Pont-y-pwl, Ffordd Hanbury, Pont-y-pwl NP4 6JL.

The A4042 Trunk Road (Pontypool Roundabout To Court Farm Roundabout, Torfaen) (50 Mph Speed Limit) Order 202-

THE WELSH MINISTERS propose to make an Order in exercise of their powers under sections 14(1), (4) and (7), 84(1)(a) and (2) and 124(3)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the proposed Order will be to introduce a permanent 50 mph speed limit on the lengths of the A4042 Newport to Shrewsbury trunk road ("the trunk road") specified in the Schedule to this Notice. A temporary 50 mph speed limit Order (S.I. 2025/935 (W. 160)) is currently in place at this location and will be revoked by this Order.

During a period of 21 days from 16 June 2026, a copy of the proposed Order, the Statement of Reasons for making the Order and the plan may be inspected, free of charge, at Pontypool Library Hanbury Road, Pontypool, NP4 6JL.

The length of the northbound carriageway of the trunk road that extends from a point 36 metres south of Pontypool Roundabout to its junction with the southern side of that roundabout.

The length of the northbound carriageway of the trunk road that extends from its junction with the north-eastern side of Pontypool Roundabout to a point 216 metres north-east of that roundabout.

The circulatory carriageway of Pontypool Roundabout.

The length of the southbound carriageway of the trunk road that extends from a point 45 metres south of its junction with the south-eastern side of Court Farm Roundabout to its junction with the north-eastern side of Pontypool Roundabout.

The length of the southbound carriageway of the trunk road that extends from its junction with the southern side of Pontypool Roundabout to a point 40 metres south of that roundabout.
