Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane – Order 2026-20629

Will be to temporarily suspend the bus lane as lies between Garlic Row & Swann Rd. During the period this Order remains in force Cambridgeshire County Council, (Various Streets, Cambridge), (Bus Lanes), Order 2024 Roads & parts of roads on which any vehicle other than a pedal cycle. 

Electric scooter, Bus, Hackney carriage or private hire vehicle is prohibited at all times on all days, Newmarket Rd: On the south side from a point 155 metres west of its junction with Ditton Walk to a point 50 metres northeast of its junction with River Ln is hereby suspended. 

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near the bus lane & it will come into operation on 27/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 26/1/28 whichever is the earlier. 

This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Newmarket Rd A1134, Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 27/7 & 20/7/26.

Castle Street, Cambridge
Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20646
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Castle Street, Cambridge as lies between Babbage House & Victoria Road. The alternative route for vehicles is via Castle St; A1303; A1134 & vice versa. 

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new gas connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 19/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 18/1/28 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs & 18:00hrs on 19/7/26.

Yarrow Road, Teversham
Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20651

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Yarrow Road, Teversham as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers. 

The alternative route for vehicles is via Gazelle Way, Teversham; Cherry Hinton Rd C233; Teversham Drift C233, Cambridge; High St C233; Fulbourn Rd; Yarrow Rd, Fulbourn and vice versa. 

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 22/7/26 and continue until these works have finished or on the 21/1/28 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 00:01hrs to 05:00hrs 22/7/26.

Broadway, Bourn
Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20659
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Broadway, Bourn as lies between Great Common Cottages & A428 Bridge. 

The alternative route for vehicles is via Broadway; St Neots Rd, Knapwell; St Neots Rd, Bourn; St Neots Rd, Caldecote; St Neots Rd, Dry Drayton; St Neots Rd, Hardwick; Cambridge Rd; Main St; Toft Rd; Hardwick Rd, Toft; B1046; Gill Hill, Bourn; High St; Alms Hill & vice versa. 

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water main laying & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 6/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 5/1/28 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6/7 & 26/7/26.

Various Roads, Cambridge
Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2026-20666
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads, as set out in Schedule 1 below. Nothing in this Order shall prevent access & egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1. 

The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate installation of HV cables & associated works. 

The proposed Order will come into operation on 6/7/26 & will continue until these works have finished or on the 5/1/28 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that this order will apply to the locations, at various times during the dates specified in the Schedule.

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ermine St, Caxton as lies between Caxton Bypass & Caxton Footpath 20. 

The alternative route for vehicles is via A1198; Royston Rd & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate remedial & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 20/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 19/1/28 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 20/7 & 24/7/26.

Hills Road, Cambridge
Temporary Suspension of Cycle Lane – Order 2026-20675

Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle ln as lies between Flying Pig Public House & Brooklands Ave. During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area A Consolidation Order 1993, Schedule 23 Cycle Lns Part 2 Mandatory with flow cycle lane Hills Rd On its west side from a point 13 metres north of its junction with Brooklands Ave to a point 70 metres south of its junction with Bateman St is hereby suspended. 

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle ln & it will come into operation on 1/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 31/12/27 whichever is the earlier. 

This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Hills Rd, Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1/7 & 24/12/26.

Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic, Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane & Temporary Suspension of Cycle Lane – Order 2026-20676

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads, as set out in Schedule 1 below. NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of whichwill be to temporarily suspend the bus lane as set out in Schedule 2 below.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate footbridge installation & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 13/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 12/1/28 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 9:30hrs & 14:30hrs 13/7 & 17/7/26.

Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane – Order 2026-20679
Will be to temporarily suspend the bus lane as lies between train tracks & DFS Store. During the period this Order remains in force Cambridgeshire County Council (Various Streets, Cambridge) (Bus Lanes) Order 2024 Schedule Roads & parts of roads on which any vehicle other than a pedal cycle, electric scooter, bus, hackney carriage or private hire vehicle is prohibited at all times on all days. 

Newmarket Road On the south side from a point 155 metres west of its junction with Ditton Walk to a point 50 metres north-east of its junction with River Lane is hereby suspended. 

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate S278 & associated works which are being carried out on or near the bus lane & it will come into operation on 27/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 26/1/28 whichever is the earlier. 

This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Newmarket Road, Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 27/7 & 9/8/26.

Lady Margaret Road, Cambridge
Temporary Prohibition of Northbound Through Traffic – Order 2026-20680

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding northbound along Lady Margaret Rd, Cambridge as lies between Mount Pleasant & No.1. The alternative route for vehicles is via A1134; A1303; Pound Hill; Haymarket Rd, Cambridge respectively. 

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate installation of new electrical supply & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 7/7/26 & continue until these works have finished or on the 6/1/28 whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 20:00hrs & 05:00hrs 7/7 & 13/7/26. Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. 

The Order shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
