Suffolk - Multiple Temporary Road Closures & Speed Restrictions Due To Various Works

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 - Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C637 Rickinghall Road, Hinderclay
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C637 Rickinghall Road, Hinderclay from Wood View property for 30 metres southbound to facilitate remedial works to fire hydrant cover and frame. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be: Rickinghall Road, Bury Road, the A134, Hinderclay Road, Wattisfield Road, Rickinghall Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 17/06/2026 - 19/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction On Part Of The B1106 Bury Bottom And B1107 Thetford Road, Brandon And Santon Downham
Suffolk County Council has made an order for a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the following roads:
- B1106 Bury Bottom, Brandon from Fire Road 10 for 2400 metres northbound.
- B1107 Thetford Road, Santon Downham from 200 metres south of Fire Road 16 to the junction with Green Road, Brandon.
- B1107 Thetford Road, Santon Downham from the B1107 to Fire Road 18.

This is to facilitate safety during Thetford Forest Concert Nights. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
It is intended that these measures will operate from 17/06/2026 - 21/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U4119 Kingsland, Shotley
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U4119 Kingsland, Shotley from no. 2 to no. 32 to facilitate the installation of fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Kingsland and vice versa.

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The A12, Bredfield And Melton
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the A12, Bredfield and the A12, Melton from the junction with the A1152 to the junction with Road C309 from A12, Bredfield to facilitate road stud removal and reinstatement, road marking and surface dressing works.
Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A12, the A14, the A140, the A1120, the A12 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from:
1. 17/06/2026 - 19/06/2026 from 8:00pm – 5:00am
2. 11/07/2026 - 12/07/2026 from 4:00am – 9:00am
3. 03/08/2026 - 07/08/2026 from 8:00pm – 5:00am.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C412 New Lane, Holbrook
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C412 New Lane, Holbrook from the junction with Harkstead Road to no. 1 Fir Tree Cottages to facilitate installation of fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Fir Tree Hill, Fishpond Lane, Ipswich Road, Holbrook Road, Main Road, Harkstead Lane, Brick Kiln Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 17/06/2026 - 23/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U1221 Nethergate Street And C968 Bridge Street, Bungay
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:
- U1221 Nethergate Street, Bungay from the junction with Bridge Street for 20 metres northbound.
- C968 Bridge Street, Bungay from the junction with Trinity Street for 100 metres eastbound.

This is to facilitate overhead cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A144, the A143, Ditchingham Dam and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 17/06/2026 from 9:30am – 3:30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C556 The Street, Badwell Ash
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C556 The Street, Badwell Ash from Medler Cottage for 20 metres eastbound and 20 metres westbound to facilitate laying duct.
Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Badwell Road, The Causeway, Ixworth Road, the C645 from Walsham Road to Ixworth Road, Walsham Road, Woolpit Road, Stow Lane, Ixworth Road, The Street, Hunston Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 17/06/2026 - 19/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A12 STATION ROAD AND MAIN ROAD AND B1122 MIDDLETON ROAD, YOXFORD
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the:
- A12 Station Road, Yoxford from the junction with the B1122 to the A1120
- A12 Main Road, Yoxford from the junction with the B1122 for 195 metres eastbound, and;
- B1122 Middleton Road, Yoxford from the junction with the A12 for 246.64 metres southbound.

This is to facilitate construction of a roundabout. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion routes will be:
- northbound: the A12, the A146, the A143, the A140, the A14 and vice versa.
- southbound: the B1122, the B1069, the A1094, the A12 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 08/05/2026 - 11/05/2026 from 8:00pm – 5:00am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
