What is happening?
BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE
(MILNROW AND NEWHEY CARNIVAL, MILNROW AND NEWHEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES AND TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council made an Order, the effect of which is to;
(i) Temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along;
• Haugh Lane – for its entire length,
• Railway Street – for its entire length,
• Huddersfield Road – from its junction with Haugh Lane to its junction with Newhey Road/Shaw Road,
• Newhey Road – for its entire length,
• Dale Street – for its entire length,
• Station Road – for its entire length,
• Equitable Street – for its entire length,
• Harbour Lane North – for its entire length,
• Bridge Street – from its junction with Harbour Lane North to its junction with Dale Street.
(ii) Temporary prohibit vehicles from waiting at anytime along;
• Haugh Lane – for its entire length,
• Huddersfield Road – both sides from its junction with Haugh Lane to its junction with Peppermint Close,
• Newhey Road – the westerly side from the M62 Bridge to its junction with New Street.
The Order is required to facilitate the safe holding of the Milnrow and Newhey Carnival.
The Prohibition of Vehicles will be operative from 12:00 until 14:30 on the 20th June 2026.
The Prohibition of Waiting will be operative from 09:00 hours until 14:30 hours on 20th June 2026.
Due to the nature and duration of the event it is not necessary for alternative routes to be in place.
(WORDSWORTH WAY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES ORDER) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING AT ANY TIME ORDER) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council intend, in not less than seven days, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to;
(i) Temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Wordsworth Way from its junction with Bamford Way for a distance of 152 metres in a westerly direction.
(ii) Temporary prohibit vehicles from waiting at anytime along Wordsworth Way from its junction with Bamford Way for a distance of 152 metres in a westerly direction.
The Order is required to facilitate the resurfacing of the carriageway.
The Order will be operative from 08:00 on the 6th July 2026 until 17:00 on the 27th July 2026.
Access will be maintained for residents.
The alternative route for vehicles will be via Bamford Way, Martlet Avenue, Norden Road, War Office Road & vice versa.
