What is happening?

STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – (AS AMENDED)
THE STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL PUBLIC FOOTPATH
NO. 27 (PART) FULFORD PARISH (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Staffordshire County Council on 9/6/26 made an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along the section of Public Footpath No. 27 (part) Fulford Parish from its junction with Public Footpath No. 16 Fulford Parish at Leacroft Hall for approximately 555m.

The closure is required under the provision of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14(1)(b) due to the unsafe condition of the footbridges and subsequent works required. 

An alternative route is available.

A plan will be displayed on site to show the alternative route available, length of path to be closed and unaffected rights of way in the area.

This Order came into operation on 11/6/26 and will remain in force for a period of six months or until the risk of danger to the public is over, whichever is the earlier. If necessary, after six months, the Order may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State.

The closure is required under the provision of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 Section 14 (1) (b) due to the unsafe condition of the footbridge and subsequent works required.

No alternative route is available.

A plan will be displayed on site to show the length of path to be closed and unaffected rights of way in the area.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

Notice is hereby given that Staffordshire County Council on 16/6/26 made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in that length of:

Edward St, Newcastle Under Lyme. For more information regarding access arrangements, timings and diversion routes please visit https://one.network/?tm=GB149529780.  

The Order will come into operation on 18/6/26 and the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated the works will be completed by 18/6/26. 

The Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the replacing a manhole frame and cover works, which it is proposed to carry out on or near the road have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
