TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
PART OF THE BALK, MILLINGTON
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along
The Balk, Millington from its junction with Swineridge
Lane heading east onto Givendale Hill until its junction
with The Balk commencing 9 July 2026 at 08.00 hours
until 11 July 2026 at 23.59 hours.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
part of The Balk, Millington excavation to install
telecoms cable works, to be carried out and completed
in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed within three days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Swineridge Lane heading east onto Givendale Hill
until its junction with The Balk, Millington CP, Wolds
Weighton Ward. The road will be closed to all traffic
but access will remain for residents,emergency vehicles
and pedestrians. The Order will commence 9 July
2026 and continue in force for a period not exceeding
eighteen months or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever
is the earlier. Further information can be obtained from
