What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
PART OF NEWBRIDGE LANE, WILBERFOSS

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part
of Newbridge Lane, Wilberfoss. The reason for the
closure is to enable the proposed part of Newbridge
Lane, Wilberfoss works to install ducting and chambers
for the new BDUK fibre network, to be carried out and
completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will
be completed within seven days. The alternative route
for traffic affected by the Order is via Sand Lane, A1079
Hull Road and Bolton Lane, Wilberfoss CP, Fangfoss CP,
Pocklington Provincial Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles
and pedestrians. The Order will commence 8 July
2026 and continue in force for a period not exceeding
eighteen months or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever
is the earlier. Further information can be obtained from
