What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD
CLOSURE ON B79 FATHOM
LINE, NEWRY

Notice is hereby given that the Department for Infrastructure
in its capacity as Road Authority and acting in pursuance of
its powers under Article 7 of the Road Traffic Regulation
(Northern Ireland) Order 1997 has temporarily prohibited the
use of the above named road to through traffic, from the
junction of Albert Basin to the junction of Ferry Hill ROI from
09:30 on Monday 08 June 2026 until 16:30 on Friday 10 July
2026.
Local access and access for emergency vehicles will be
maintained at all times.
This closure is to facilitate work by DFI Southern.
An alternative route will be signed with traffic being diverted
via:
U6288 Albert Basin, A0001 Bridge Street, A0001 Dublin

Road, A0001 Newry By-Pass, A0001 A1 Newry By-Pass On-
Slip Road (South Bound), A0001 A1 Newry By-Pass Off-Slip

Road (North Bound), A0001 A1 Dublin Road Dual
Carriageway (North Bound), A0001 A1 Dublin Road Dual
Carriageway (South Bound). Diversion continues via ROI N1
Southbound - R173 - R175 - R176 - R173.
