CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(ALBION STREET, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Albion Street, Dunstable at the junction of Edward Street.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 15 July 2026 between the hours of 0800-1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Princes Street, Union St, Edward St.

The Order will come into operation on 13 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(PRINCES STREET, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Princes Street, Dunstable opposite number 13.

This temporary closure is required to enable column replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 16 to 20 July 2026.Between the hours of 0800 and 1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via West St, Victoria St, Albion St and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 16 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(NORTHALL ROAD, EATON BRAY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Northall Road, Eaton Bray between the county boundary and Chiltern View.

This temporary closure is required to enable cable overblow work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing. It is expected that the works will take place on 13 July 2026 between the hours of 0930 – 1530hrs. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via Harling Road, B489, B440 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 4 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Houghton Road, Houghton Regis between Townsend Farm Rd to Douglas Crescent and Mayer Road, Houghton Regis at the junction only.

This temporary closure is required to enable civils and resurfacing work with paco and lining to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 29 June to 10 July 2026.Between the hours of 2000 and 0700hrs The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via B5120, A5, A505, B5120 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 29 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(LUTON ROAD, CADDINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Luton Road, Caddington outside Badgers Holt.

This temporary closure is required to enable tree work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 29 June to 1 July 2026.Between the hours of 0900 and 1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Woodside Rd, Manor Rd and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 29 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(TODDINGTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 21)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Public Footpath No. 21, Toddington which extends from Park Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0061 2926 in a generally northerly direction for approximately 319 metres to its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 21, Toddington at OS GR TL 0057 2956.

This temporary closure is required due to construction works being carried out near to the Public Footpath. The closure is expected to take place from 26 June 2026 for up to six months. There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.

(CADDINGTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NOS. 6, 7 AND 8)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on 5 December 2025 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the following lengths of Footpath Nos. 6, 7 and 8, Caddington has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 15 December 2026:

I.  Footpath No. 6, Caddington which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0534 2082 to OS GR TL 0530 2104.

II. Footpath No. 7, Caddington which extends from OS GR TL 0534 2082 to OS GR TL 0498 2148 to OS GR TL 0505 2108.

III.Footpath No. 8, Caddington which extends from OS GR TL 0530 2104 to OS GR TL 0549 2143.

These temporary closures are required for the reconstruction of eight golf holes. The closures are expected to take place from 15 June 2026 for up to six months.

For Footpath No. 6, Caddington, the alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0534 2082 along a temporary footpath to OS GR TL 0515 2107 then continues along Footpath No. 7, Caddington to OS GR TL 0530 2104.

For Footpath No. 7, Caddington, the alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation extends from OS GR TL 0534 2082 along a temporary footpath to OS GR TL 0515 2107 then continues along Footpath No. 7, Caddington to OS GR TL 0505 2108 then continues along a temporary footpath to OS GR TL 0489 2111 then continues along a temporary footpath to OS GR TL 0498 2148. For Footpath No. 8, Caddington, the first alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation extends from OS GR TL 0530 2104 along a permissive path when construction volume permits to OS GR TL 0560 2109 then continues along highway extent to OS GR TL 0559 2119 then continues along Footpath No. A8, Caddington and Footpath No. 46, Caddington to OS GR TL 0549 2143.

For Footpath No. 8, Caddington, the second alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation extends from OS GR TL 0530 2104 along Footpath No. 7, Caddington to OS GR TL 0505 2108 then continues along a temporary footpath to OS GR TL 0489 2111 then continues along a temporary footpath to OS GR TL 0498 2148 then continues along a temporary footpath to OS GR TL 0536 2161 then continues along Footpath No. 47, Caddington and Footpath No. 46, Caddington to OS GR TL 0549 2143.

Notice of Making of Public Path Order

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (HOUGHTON REGIS: BRIDLEWAY NO. 63) PUBLIC PATH CREATION ORDER 2026

On 12 June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to create Bridleway No. 63, Houghton Regis.

The length of Bridleway No. 63, Houghton Regis to be created extends from its junction with Thorn Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0020 2462 in a south-south-easterly direction for approximately 262 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 57, Houghton Regis and Bridleway No. 58, Houghton Regis at OS GR TL 0034 2440.

The new length of bridleway has a width of 4 metres.

Public use of the bridleway is subject to use by vehicles accessing the Dunstable Sewage Treatment Works between Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0020 2462 and OS GR TL 0034 2440.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (HOUGHTON REGIS: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. A7) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2026

On 12 June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert part of Footpath No. A7, Houghton Regis. The length of Footpath No. A7, Houghton Regis to be stopped up extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0040 2459 in a westerly direction for approximately 26 metres across West Highland Drive to OS GR TL 0038 2459 then continues in a westerly direction for approximately 171 metres across an area of open land to terminate at its junction with Thorn Road at OS GR TL 0021 2462.

The footpath is stopped up across its full width.

The length of Footpath No. A7, Houghton Regis to be created extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0040 2459 in a generally north-westerly direction for approximately 31 metres along the footway of West Highland Drive to a signalised crossing at OS GR TL 0039 2460 then continues in a generally south-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres across West Highland Drive to OS GR TL 0038 2460 then continues in a generally north-westerly direction for approximately 60 metres along the western footway of West Highland Drive to terminate at its junction with the adopted section of West Highland Drive at OS GR TL 0034 2465.

The new route of the footpath has a width of 2.8 metres between Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0040 2459 and OS GR TL 0039 2460 and a width of 4 metres between OS GR TL 0039 2460 and OS GR TL 0034 2465.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (HOUGHTON REGIS: FOOTPATH NO. 56) PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2026

On 12 June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to extinguish Footpath No. 56, Houghton Regis.

The length of Footpath No. 56, Houghton Regis to be stopped up extends from its junction with Thorn Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0020 2462 in a south-south-easterly direction for approximately 262 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 57, Houghton Regis and Bridleway No. 58, Houghton Regis at OS GR TL 0034 2440.

The footpath is stopped up over its full width.

The three Public Path Orders outlined above relate to public rights of way on or near to land which is proposed to be used for a new school in Houghton Regis. The orders come into force on 19 June 2026 but if a person aggrieved by an Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 17 June 2026 make an application to the High Court.
