CUMBERLAND COUNCIL A595 WIGTON ROAD, CARLISLE (CYCLE TRACK) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF CYCLISTS AND PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make Orders the effect of which is to prohibit pedal cycles and pedestrians from proceeding along that section of cycle track with runs adjacent to the A595 Wigton Road, Carlisle (north west side) from its junction with Whitefields, extending in an overall north easterly direction for approx. 40m to the entrance with B&M store.
Pedestrians should use the adjacent footway, and pedal cycles may use the cycle track on the south east side of Wigton Road.

The Order will come into operation on 30 June 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of six months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 week and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
