Upperby Road - Temporary Road Closure Due To Utility Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C1041 UPPERBY ROAD, CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C1041 Upperby Road, Carlisle, from its junction with Uldale Road, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 40m.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the C1041 Upperby Road, Brisco Road, Newbiggin Road, Scalegate Road and Ridley Road.

The Order will come into operation on 7 July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 4 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
