SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF BABERGH)

(STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES)

(MAP-BASED) ORDER 2019 (PARISH OF STRATFORD ST MARY) (DEDHAM ROAD) (B1029)

(PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS) (VARIATION NO. 35) ORDER 2026

On the 08/06/2026 Suffolk County Council made the above order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3) 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, to substitute revision 1 of Map Tile HS102 in place of revision 0 of the same Map Tile, into the above-named 2019 Order. The effect of this would be to introduce:

‘No waiting at any time’ on:

Dedham Road (B1029), Stratford St Mary:

• from a point approximately 124 metres north of the county boundary, in a northerly direction for approximately 95 metres

• from a point approximately 255 metres north of the county boundary, in a northerly direction for approximately 61 metres.

Exceptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload; for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for blue badge-holders.

A copy of the Order and map showing the road affected, which comes into operation on the 15/06/2026, may be seen with advance notice at the address below and at Capel St Mary Library, Village Hall, The Street, Capel St Mary IP9 2EF. Tuesday 9am - 12.30pm and 2pm - 5.30pm; Wednesday and Thursday 9am - 12.30pm; Friday 2pm - 5.30pm; Saturday 9am - 3pm; and Sunday 10am - 3pm; excluding Public and Bank Holidays.

If anyone wishes to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.
