What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BARROW) (DAVE DAY) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of Dave Day ("the Event") in Barrow-in-Furness, Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to:-1. Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along the following lengths of road, but only at the times and dates stated:

1. Duke Street (both sides), from its roundabout at Schneider Square extending in a north westerly direction to its roundabout junction with Abbey Rd (Ramsden Square); and

ii. Cornwallis Street (both sides), from its junction with Hindpool Rd, extending in a north easterly direction for its entire length.

iii. Market Street (both sides) from its junction with Lawson Street extending in a north easterly direction to its junction with Duke Street.

iv. Lawson Street (both sides) from its junction with Market Street extending in a north westerly direction to its junction with Cornwallis Street. Duration: from Friday 19 June 2026 to 12:00 hours on Saturday 20 June 2026

2. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road, but only at the times and dates stated:

i. Market Street, for its entire length; and

ii. Cavendish Street, from its junction with Duke Street extending in a south westerly direction to its junction with Clifford Street; and

iii. Lawson Street, from its junction with Market Street extending in a north westerly direction to its junction with Cornwallis Street; and

iv. Cornwallis Street, from its junction with Hindpool Rd, extending in a north easterly direction for its entire length; and

v. Dalkeith Street, from its junction with Abbey Road extending in a south westerly direction to its junction with High Street; and

vi. Duke St, from its roundabout at Schneider Square extending in a north westerly direction to its roundabout junction with Abbey Rd (Ramsden Square).

Duration: from 12:00 hours on Saturday 20 June

2026 to 22:00 hours on 20 June 2026.

Alternative routes will be signed accordingly on site. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. The reference to quote is TTROW/19285 The Order will come into operation on Friday 19 June 2026 and may continue in force for a period of up to three days from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required as stated above.
