What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U4078 THE HILL, NEAR MILLOM) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.5) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U4078 The Hill, near Millom, from a point adjacent to the property known as Lime Tree Cottage, extending in an overall north westerly direction for approx. 60m.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 29 June 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
