Rakesmoor Lane - Temporary Road Closure Due To Highway Works

COUNCIL (RAKESMOOR LANE, BARROW IN FURNESS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of Rakesmoor Lane, from a point approx. 275m south of its junction with Bank Lane, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 670 metres. A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via Bank Lane, A590 Park Road and the unrestricted section of Rakesmoor Lane.

The Order will come into operation on 29th June 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 5 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
