THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (LAYBYS FROM BOATHOUSE LANE INTERCHANGE TO YARM ROAD INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A66 Trunk Road, in the County of Stockton on Tees, to enable lamp column renewal works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start on Friday 10 July 2026 for 1 night, or until completed, and will take place between 8pm and 6am.

The effect of the Order will be to close, at times during the works, the laybys adjacent to the A66 westbound carriageway from the entry slip road at the A165 Boathouse Lane Interchange to the exit slip road at the A1027 Yarm Road Interchange, a distance of 1110 metres.

Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 9 July 2026 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
