Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 12 June 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- 1. prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of – (a) Runwick Lane (D5328) Runwick as extends from its junction with Chamber Lane (D5328) to its junction with Clarks Hill (C123); and (b) Clarks Hill (C123) Runwick as extends from its junctions with Runwick Lane to the merge of both arms of the junction outside of “Hillside”; and 2. suspend “The Surrey County Council Runwick Lane (D5328) Runwick Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” insofar as it affects the length of Runwick Lane described in 1. (a).

Alternative route – (a) Runwick Lane, A31 (Alton Road) and Chamber Lane, or this route in reverse. (b) Clarks Hill, Dippenhall Road, Crondall Lane, B3228 (West Street), A31 (Alton Road) and Runwick Lane, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable South East Water to facilitate valve replacement and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 22 June 2026 for 1 week between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents will be maintained either side of but not through the works site.

Haste Hill (D5524) Haslemere
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of that length of Haste Hill (D5524) Haslemere as extends from its junction with (D5527) The Common and for a distance of 55 metres in southerly direction along Haste Hill. Alternative Route: The Common, Blackdown Lane, and Haste Hill, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate replace/repair fire hydrant within the carriageway for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 11.30pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 13 July 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic, including emergency service vehicles, will be required to follow the signed diversion route.

Runfold Diversion (A31) Farnham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Runfold Diversion (A31) Farnham as extends from its junction with its slip road leading to (A331) Camberley to its junction with its roundabout with (A31) Shepherd and Flock Roundabout; (b) Runfold Diversion (A31) Farnham as extends from its junction with its roundabout with (A31) Shepherd and Flock Roundabout to its junction with its roundabout with (A331) leading to Tongham Services; (c) Runfold Diversion (A31) Farnham slip road to “Runfold” to its junction with (C121) St Georges Road; (d) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Runfold Diversion (A31) Farnham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” in its entirety. Alternative Route: (1) Guildford Road, (A31) Runfold Diversion, St Georges Road, (B3208) Badshot Lea Road, (B3208) Monkton Lane, (B3208) Water Lane, (A325) Farnborough Road, (A31) Shepherd and Flock Roundabout, (A325) Farnborough Road, Queens Roundabout, (A3011) Lynchford Road, Park Road Roundabout, (A331) Blackwater Valley Road, (A31) Runfold Diversion, The Street, (C119) Hogs Back, and Guildford Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate overhead cabling works and/or other associated works for, or on behalf of SSEN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 night, between the hours of 9pm and 5am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 18 July 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site. All other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the signed diversion route. No sole access is affected by this closure.

D5527 Chase Lane, Haslemere
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D5527 Chase Lane, Haslemere that extends from the south-eastern side of its junction with the access road for “Woodpeckers”, south-eastwards for a distance of 100m. This Traffic Order is required to enable BT Openreach to carry out telegraph pole testing and/or replacement and/or to carry out cabling and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm within 1 day of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 14 July 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. There is no applicable alternative route however access for residents, businesses, emergency services, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times under direction of site operatives.

D5336 St Cross Road, Farnham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 17 June 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D5336 St Cross Road, Farnham. This Traffic Order is required to enable Falcon Tower Crane Services Limited to dismantle a tower crane and/or to carry out associated works in D5336 St Cross Road, Farnham between its junction with B3228 East Street and the northern side of its junction with D5336 Upper South View. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 6am and 8pm within 2 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 25 June 2026.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the lengths of roads above, or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or preventing the likelihood of such danger arising. Access for emergency services, residents and businesses will be maintained to the point of works via the vehicular diversion routes:- 1. East Street, St James Avenue, Stoke Hill, St James Terrace and Beaufort Road. 2. Beaufort Road, High Park Road, Park Row, Castle Street, The Borough, Bear Lane, Woolmead Road and East Street. Access for pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times via the footway to the western side of the carriageway.

Three Gates Lane (D5528) Haslemere
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Three Gates Lane (D5528) Haslemere as extends from its junction with Highercombe Road (D5528) to the access for St Ives School.

Alternative route – Highercombe Road, A286 (Grayswood Road), Lower Road, The Mount, Clammer Hill and Three Gates Lane, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Holcim UK Limited to facilitate sewer works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 13 July 2026 for 2 months between the hours of 7.30am and 5.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Public Footpath 302 (Farnham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) & (2) The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 302 (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made to protect public safety due to development works and the construction of a bridge occurring on and near the footpath. The Order came into force on 14 December 2023.

It was due to expire on 14 June 2024. It was then continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 14 June 2025, it was then continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport for a second time until 14 June 2026. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport for a third time until 14 June 2027 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 302 (Farnham) on the section known as Borelli Walk, between South Street and the River Wey footbridge crossing. On site notices will be provided to give further details.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements.

There is no suggested alternate route.

The ‘Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 302 (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023’ was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
