What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF EALING
NOTICE OF INTENT TO CREATE A TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER FOR
PLANNED WORKS AFFECTING: VARIOUS ROADS, ACTON.

Ealing Council intends to make the following temporary traffic order under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

Title of order
This order can be referred to as: Temporary traffic order for planned works - TT 5193 Various Roads, Acton - 2026.

Reason for order
This order is needed to allow for works taking place on or near the road.
These works involve Clancy Group on behalf of (SSE) Scottish & Southern Energy laying new power cables.

Effect of order
1. This order will implement temporary road closures and will be carried out in works phases as outlined in page 2 “Schedule to this order”.

2. The following temporary restrictions on vehicle movements will take effect from 13th June 2026. 
(a) No entry into the fully closed section(s) where scheduled restrictions are implemented.

(b) No waiting, loading, or unloading on either side of the carriageway within the fully closed section.

3. The above temporary restrictions and prohibitions will only apply at specified locations where appropriate traffic signs are provided and displayed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.

4. While the temporary restrictions are in place, displaced vehicles should follow the diversions displayed in place to reach their destinations and comply with any traffic management measures.

5. This Order does not apply to:
(a) anything done at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer (PCSO).

(b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance.

Date order will come into force.
13th June 2026

Maximum duration of order
This order will expire on 12th January 2028 or, on completion of the works, which is expected to be 27th November 2026, whichever is sooner. These works are indicative and subject to weather and unforeseen works delays.

Phase 1 13/07/2026 to 31/07/2026 This phase will close St Dunstans
Avenue from its junction with Friary
Road to Western Avenue junction.
Access only will be maintained.
Phase 2 27/07/2026 to 21/08/2026 Friary Road will be closed between
its junctions with St Dunstans
Avenue to Friary Way junction.
Phase 3 17/08/2026 to 28/08/2026 Crane Avenue will be closed at its
junction with Baldwyn Gardens.
Access only will be provided.
Phase 4 17/08/2026 to 11/09/2026 Baldwyn Gardens will be closed at
its junction with Crane Avenue to
Grafton Road.
Phase 5 7/09/2026 to 25/09/2026 Grafton Road will be closed at its
junction with Baldwyn Gardens to
junction of Messaline Avenue.
Phase 6 19/10/2026 to 16/11/2026 Grasmere Avenue will be closed
between its junctions with Messaline
Avenue through to Eastern
extremity of the Westbourne
Avenue junction.
Phase 7 2/11/2026 to 27/11/2026 Westbourne Avenue will be closed
from its junction with Grasmere
Avenue to the junction with
Emanuel Avenue.
